Help: The permit feed for trades
What this page does
This page explains the permit feed for trades and suppliers. Every permit is tagged with the trades it involves (17 in all, from roofing and HVAC to decks and basements), tied to its address, and the contractor's name is written the same way every time. Members can filter, save searches, get email alerts, export to CSV and see the permits on a map. $29 a month for every city we cover, first 30 days free.
How to use it
- Look at the sample permits and the sample alert email on this page to see what you'd get.
- Check the free version first: See this week's permits and every address page need no account.
- To subscribe, fill in your work email, company, cities and main trade, then press Subscribe. Card payment is handled by Stripe.
- Cancel before the 30 days are up and you pay nothing. After that, cancel any time; your plan runs to the end of the month paid.
Leads in your trade, not a spreadsheet.
Every permit is tagged with the trades it involves, 17 in all, from roofing, HVAC, electrical and plumbing to windows, solar, decks and basements. A roofer gets this week's Calgary roofing jobs over $20,000, not every permit the city issued. Suppliers and rental yards see which companies are building, and where. Save the search, get it by email Monday morning, export it.
Calgary · recent permits with a contractor
How it works
- 1
Pick your cities and trades
Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Red Deer now; Airdrie, Grande Prairie and Strathcona County are being added city by city. Add a value range or a neighbourhood if you only work part of town.
- 2
Save the search
Get it by email every Monday at 7 am, or daily when something new is issued. Each permit links to its address page.
- 3
Quote the work
Export the week as CSV for your CRM or estimating sheet. Track an address to hear when the next permit lands on it.
What the city files, cleaned up
Sorted by trade
We read each permit's work description and tag it with one or more of 17 trades. A re-roof is roofing even when the city files it as an "alteration".
One name per contractor
"Example Roofing", "EXAMPLE ROOFING LTD" and "Example Rfg" become one company, with its permit history across every city we cover. Company names only.
Matched to the address
Every permit is tied to its address, with the zoning, the neighbourhood and the property's earlier permits.
Export and alerts
CSV and PDF export. Saved searches with weekly or daily email. Track single addresses.
Being added to the feed
New business openings from the cities' licence files, company names only; and more cities: Airdrie, Grande Prairie and Strathcona County. Subscribers get each one as it is added, at no extra cost. Edmonton development permits are already in the feed; we are working on getting Development Permit information for the other cities we serve.
What lands Monday at 7 am
One email per saved search: the count, the trade, the city and the week in the subject line, then each permit with its address, work, contractor and value. Tap through to the address page or the full feed.
Every alert has one-click unsubscribe and our sender details. Change how often, or pause it, any time.
